Colani 10-501 80s vintage sunglasses
Luigi Colani was a German industrial designer known for his futuristic, organic shapes and for applying the same design language across cars, cameras, furniture and eyewear. During the 1980s he became especially influential in Japan and worked with companies such as Canon, Sony and Mazda. His eyewear follows the same philosophy: flowing lines, unusual proportions and designs that look engineered rather than simply styled.
We are proud to present these Colani 10-501 “Wing Commander” vintage sunglasses from around 1983, made in Japan.
A striking aviator design with Colani’s typical curved construction, oversized proportions and a very distinctive central brow detail. The frame is made from gold-plated titanium and fitted with brown sun lenses providing full UV protection.
A rare unworn original and a great example of early-80s Colani eyewear - bold, technical and instantly recognisable.

Our glasses come with detailed measurements in the product description.
The key measurement is the frame width, which is the distance from the inside of the right temple to the inside of the left temple. To ensure a perfect fit width-wise, we recommend measuring an existing frame that fits you comfortably, providing a valuable reference. For minor size concerns like nosepads and temple lengths, an optician can make adjustments.
We've also included a size guide in the glasses description to assist your selection.

It depends on the frames. While we strive to include the original case with every purchase, we don't always have the original case available. However, you can rest assured that we provide our signature hard case and a cleaning cloth with each purchase.
