Theo Belgium Tibetan reading glasses

€499,00 EUR

Theo is an independent Belgian eyewear brand created by opticians Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet, with its first collection presented in 1989. The idea was simple: they were tired of the conventional frames available at the time and wanted to make something genuinely different.

That attitude has stayed with Theo ever since. The brand became known for unusual shapes, strong colours, clever constructions and a sense of humour that sets its frames apart from more traditional eyewear. Designed in Antwerp and produced in specialist European workshops, Theo has always treated glasses as objects of design rather than simply accessories.

Over the years the brand has also worked with outside designers and young creative talent, helping keep the collections experimental and unpredictable. Vintage Theo pieces are especially interesting because many of them capture the more radical side of European eyewear design from the 1990s and early 2000s.

We are proud to present these Theo “Tibetan” reading glasses, made in Belgium and designed with exactly the kind of playful character Theo became known for.

The exaggerated brow line and sharp black outer details give the frame an almost illustrated, eye-like expression, while the dark brown and black colour combination keeps it surprisingly elegant despite the unusual shape.

An unworn original piece made for reading rather than varifocal use - definitely one of the more artistic Theo designs.
