Theo Sprouts glasses

€449,00 EUR

Theo is an independent Belgian eyewear brand created by opticians Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet, with its first collection presented in 1989. The idea was simple: they were tired of the conventional frames available at the time and wanted to make something genuinely different.

That attitude has stayed with Theo ever since. The brand became known for unusual shapes, strong colours, clever constructions and a sense of humour that sets its frames apart from more traditional eyewear. Designed in Antwerp and produced in specialist European workshops, Theo has always treated glasses as objects of design rather than simply accessories.

Over the years the brand has also worked with outside designers and young creative talent, helping keep the collections experimental and unpredictable. Vintage Theo pieces are especially interesting because many of them capture the more radical side of European eyewear design from the 1990s and early 2000s.

This Theo Sprouts frame belongs to the Potatoes Acetate collection, combining softly sculpted acetate rims with a lightweight metal framework in a playful layered construction.

The gently upswept oval shape features richly mottled brown, amber and blue acetate, contrasted by a vivid cobalt-blue bridge and temples. Exposed spring-hinge details and adjustable nose pads complete its distinctive technical character.

An unworn original frame fitted with demonstration lenses, ready to be replaced with prescription or tinted lenses.
